Unfortunately that car is not for the majority of us. It's going to be very expensive, inflated by dealers, hoarded by collectors, and relegated to the history books. My enthusiasm is curbed by the reality it's not something that will have any real bearing on the performance world in the future. The coyote does, but not this car.

Will be out of my budget so whatever lol. I am curious to see what spoiler or wing they put on it. I like the hood.

They're just some stickers with test project numbers to identify which car it is.

That's an interesting take on it. I'm sure the most powerful and most capable Mustang ever will have some bearing on performance Mustangs of the future.

I'm curious about what rear wing they go with, too. It actually looks pretty decent without one, but I'm sure it needs one for the best track performance.

It's not necessarily a cynical approach. Flat plane motors are so exotic, so few builders can manage them, and they are flat out expensive. Add boost and an already complicated motor gets even more complicated. Even if it ends up coyote cross-plane based, those are damn near bullet proof after oil pump gears/timing components that it's a "add boost, make mo powa" equation.

Makes it hard for any aftermarket company to come out with parts when Ford check's all of the boxes right out of the gate.

That's not really a bad thing. When you look at it objectively, the vast majority of performance cars remain stock. It's good to have a car that's dialed in from the factory.

LOL! I haven't been a big fan of the S-550s, design wise, but the GT-350 I do like, and this particular shot of the rear makes me think I'll like the GT-500 overall as much as I like the GT-350. It won't please everyone, but I think some on the fence are going to be very pleased in the end. Problem is, it will likely be priced above what most of us can afford, so some will have to wait and buy one down the road, used.

HAH! I agree with a lot of this. I pretty well hate the s550 design, from fusion-esque standard cars to the angry catfish 350. But this car seems to remedy some of those design "flaws" so, we shall see.

Looks good. But, unless they are making a R version for serious track duty, I hope they do not put the spoiler pictured in the reveal video. I would prefer either the 350 or 350R style spoiler.

Can't wait to see the final specs, would look good sitting next to the 2012!

When will we see Terminator 2? It doesnt have to be a Cobra, but overbuild it so much it shames the competition.

Big wing in the promo vid is R model.
Base will be more subtle but still noticeable.
If Ford builds the bottom end for reliability the 5.2/CPC/TVS2650 is a known 1000rwhp potential.
I’m most interested in the trans choice and advancement FP/SVT makes from the 350/350R
This one with that engine combo and huge brakes/magneride/DCT/IRS should be epic, I will be a buyer.

I would be surprised if Ford uses the FPC in this car. I would also be surprised if this car doesn’t weigh over 4K... look at the new 18 GT.. it’s at 3800+ now.... supercharger, bigger brakes, suspension, heavier duty trans.... that all adds weight! I’m sure it’ll be bad ass, but with ZL1s discounted well into the 50s new... a 90k 750hp Shelby isn’t going to end up in my garage.

Not sure if you're joking, but I'm happy if 3900# and the parts we are expecting.
Lighter always better, but 3900# is manageable.
What does the auto ZL1 Camaro weigh?

Sadly I’m bullshitting but I have great sources such as me, myself and I.

    I believe the new zl1 auto is 3930# +/-.
*confirmed* some motortrend test was 3933lbs auto

    A manual zl1 1le was 3850lbs in a c&d test review
