Squeak on firewall from firewall adjuster

Since I installed my new clutch last year I have had an intermittent squeak. Today it was finally nice enough that I could get look at what was causing it. It seems that the pressure the flywall adjuster is pushing onto the firewall is what is causing it to squeak.

When I push in the clutch, the cable comes and rests against the plate which is bolted to the firewall, which then flexes the firewall causing a squeak.

Anyone seen this before or how to fix it?

never heard of that before, i don't think your firewall should be flexing enough to cause a squeak. sounds like there may be an adjustment issue.
