I saw Empire Strikes back at the movie theater in 1980, I was 8. The rest of these movies just don't stack up.

I'm a big SW fan and for the most part enjoyed the movie. I thought they had a great opportunity to leverage Luke in a bad ass Jedi, train Rey but no. The scene with Finn and the oriental girl heading to the other planet/casino was a complete was of 20+ minutes. Kylo is like this crybaby with Jedi powers, annoys me. I thought Rey was absolutely fantastic!!! Good to see the old SW characters gone from the series, time to move on. The ending was good, lots of good stuff. 7 out of 10 and definitely want to see it again, should get better.

I really hope you’re gonna go out to eat.

Then I'd be combining my 2 favorite Christmas movies. Interesting...

Why is everyone assuming Ren was telling the truth about Rey's parents?

That's what I'm saying. My thirst thought when he told her she wasn't even part of the story because she's nothing was that it was just a ploy to get her to join him.

Maybe he was or wasnt but the scene in the cave at Ahch-To didnt do it any favors either. Also, considering the slave kid at the end had force powers as well with no relation to any of the main characters hints that as well.

So more than likely, i do think she's just a girl who's parents had no relation to the force and left her because of gambling. Its the whole Anakin Skywalker story again just like the kid in the end.

not at my post...
For all its warts the movie was still enjoyable, just gotta shut off the rabid star wars fan mentality and that is admittedly hard to do... Lucas had very tight control for nearly 40 years, decided what was canon and who could write novels in the Star Wars Universe, nothing that has happened in the last two movies (TFA, TLJ) even comes close to the books after ROTJ...That all went out the window with Disney. I do understand why they are going a different route, the cast of the original trilogy is getting pretty old and dying off.

That's it, we need to petition to have Christmas Vacation re-released in theaters next year.
We have a local theater that shows classic movies. Christmas vacation played a couple weeks ago
