I just asked that in another thread and was told 1500 before it pushes past the brake.

A friend just ran his tune only 14 a few weeks ago and tried leaving at idle, 1500, a couple places in between and they all were nearly identical times.

hmmmmm off idle better than launching at 1800rpms. I went out today. Mine will hold to about 1800rpms (on street). Going to test it out tomorrow.

It will hold 1800, but your not going to want to push it that high. Flash it from 1200 to 1500 will work best.

Shallow stage helps get a running start, so yes it helps the 60' & ET. Staging deep helps reaction time

Like a few other people on here 1200 always worked the best for me. It gives you the best of both worlds. Just enough rpm to preload the suspension a bit and enough wiggle room to flash the convertor. Stock tire or radial had the same result. Idle was the next best thing but was always a touch slower for me. Riding the breaks to max rpm was always the absolute worst option and my car always fell flat on its face in the 60'.

i went from a 2.1 to a 1.9...
im at 8000+ DA, so things work a little different up here.

im assuming you are on stock converter? Im trying to wait til next year to get a converter. But these 2.0 60fts are killing me. Best i got today was a 1.99, my cobra jet manifold car is a slug off the line (stock converter and 3.15 gears).

Do anyone think its worth it to switch to 3.31 gears? Im on 26" diameter tire.

Maybe this is why I was only able to run a 2.3 with my twin set up.
Stock converter. I tried to get as much RPM out of it by foot braking and it seemed to just fall on its face. I am going back this Friday and will try it off idle and 1200 RPMs
