Need some guidance here, peeps.

I was driving the car around tonight and on the way home, it started bucking/surging and trying to die. Fortunately, I wasn't far from the house, so I was able to limp her home.

Symptoms:
-The idle was all over the place - the car would drop down like it was dead and then jump to 1,000.
-It seemed to be the worse as you were coming off the clutch at the top. Once going, it would drive ok, but still felt like it was surging and generally didn't feel right.
-Car is surely running rich.
-Car sits for as much a month at a time in between drives.
-Usually keep 1/4-1/2 tank of gas in it, currently has about 1/8 that was probably filled maybe 2-3 months ago, perhaps longer.
-Fuel filter was replaced less than 1,000 miles ago.

Bad/stale gas? Bum O2 (no CEL currently)? MAF?

Where should I start?

Sounds like it could be the MAF

Try cleaning it with the CRC MAF cleaner or the STP one.

What they said. Definitly sounds like a MAF. I'd also check all the clamps on the intake. My buddy has a car that sits like your's and the intake came loose on him.

10-4. I'll start with the MAF and check the clamps. I like simple solutions, so let's hope that's it.
