As the title states - I'm installing cobra brakes to replace my GT brakes and wondering if I have to replace my brake lines? I was ready to order a set of stainless lines, but noticed they fit v6/gt/cobra's.

Thanks

You can if you want cause stainless lines look better and perform better but you don't NEED them. When I bought my car with cobra brakes already on, it used the stock 99 gt brake lines.

Stainless braided lines will help(a little) with a stronger pedal feel. A little less expansion in the line equates to a stronger pedal feel. Not necessary but a small bonus. If you are cracking the lines for new calipers then spring the dough for the lines too. Also, your pad choice will greatly affect pedal feel and brake dust and brake squeal
