Hello all, want to start off by saying I appreciate this forum, it’s been a great resource during my hunt for an 03-04 Cobra.

I’m going to look at one tomorrow that has had its engine built 1000 miles ago. I have the full build receipt from the owner and looking to see if there’s someone willing to look it over and see if basically it makes sense. Engine was done by JPC racing in Denton, MD. I have a pdf of the build if someone is willing to help out. Thanks in advance!

Post the pdf and we'll tell you how it should have been built instead

Crap! Thought I had the right place. Apologies, didn’t know the correct forum. I believe the pages are in the correct order. Thanks for the help!!

(Some of the pages are cut of because of how I did the screen shots. There are 4 pages in total, so just look at the full page in each pic.)

So did they build it and then it had bad compression on number 5??
It seemed to me like that was just in a weird spot in the build sheet and was the engine before.

I’m posting a pic of the engine also to see if there’s anything that stands out.

If it was me, I'd talk to JPC and get the whole run down on the motor before you pull the trigger. It just seems strange that would be on there unless there was an issue.

Good call. I was planning on leaving a deposit tomorrow if I like it and was already planning on calling the shop Monday.

Thank you for the response. Went and drove the car today, drove well, seemed to have far more power at the top end (over 3,000rpm). Has a VMP Gen 3 2650, dyno chart showed 646/510. Had some friggin loud Bassani exhaust to the point I couldn’t hear the blower at all when driving. Considering it, going to call the shop tomorrow. Appreciate all the feedback.

This dyno chart look about right for a VMP Gen3? Torque seemed a little low and gradual from some ive seen. Possibly bigger pulley on it just for reliability?

Right in line. Surprised it’s still on 93. That needs some E85.
No E85 availability in my area, only 93 and 94.
Are the 2650's that weak down low? I'd expect like 500-550tq at 3000rpm from a earlier VMP TVS
The lack of down-low torque was my only real concern and why I posted the graph. Drove like that also, didn’t really start pulling till 3000+. The real bummer was the blower noise was completely non-existent (exhaust was loud AF which I’ll be changing).

Big blower, cams, and 93 octane would give that outcome. The tune might be conservative as well

Gotcha thanks. It has a set of comp cams in it and the owner told me he told the shop he wanted it to be quick but also reliable. I could always look into a retune down the line or a blower swap for a bit more whine if the quieter exhaust doesn’t do it. I don’t need all the power in the world, just good power and noises. Thanks all!
