I have to admit, im getting a little nervous. It appears the movement to abolish it is gaining quite the momentum. Despite who may win an election, we need it. I may not like or support the winner, but I do support the in place system to be fair. There are currently 15 states proposing bills to eliminate the college. All 15 at democrat leaning states.

**** the democucks Trump/Pence 2020 Keep America Great. Democucks are still whiny ass sore losers clinging to anything they can because they lost. Hillary and D’s get a hall pass. Trump did nothing wrong but it’s still his fault.

I sometimes wonder if this will bring out more republican voters. I know my cousin in California doesn’t bother voting because it is so blue where she lives. This may encourage her to vote now. I am also getting nervous and don’t like this at all. The thought of California and New York picking the president is more than scary.

Honestly, I’m worried. I could elaborate, but won’t.

Considering the Constitution established the Electoral College, it can't be eliminated without being ratified by the general population. Not gonna happen.

All these laws that propose eliminating it will be shot down by SCOTUS.

It is extremely difficult to amend the constitution... and for good reason.

Any amendment can be proposed by either house of congress but requires 2/3 vote in both houses in order to be presented to the states for ratification.

If/once 2/3 requirement in both houses is met, it is then required that 75% of the 50 states ratify the amendment in order for it to become law.

Long story short, we will not see the elimination of the EC any time soon.

Dems now know they can count on 3 million illegal votes in a presidential election. Trump administration needs to crack down on voter fraud.

That's not what they're doing. They're banding together to pledge their electoral votes to whoever wins the popular vote, regardless of who their state voted for. It's a work around that leaves the Electoral College in place and I don't see any way to stop them from doing it.

This one will end up at the Supremes. Yeah they can allot their electors to who ever wins the pop vote in their state only. But to try and apply that logic to the country wide pop vote will not fly. Beside that it would be a hoot if Trump wins the pop vote and they had to throw their electors to him even if a dimwit wins their state. I can see it now PRK having their electors going to Trump.

We are a republic. We have always been a republic. It will never happen. The electoral college was put in place to prevent mob rule.

There's nothing that says the electors in a state have to cast their votes for who won that state.

That is true but the winner usually have steadfast party people who vote for their candidate. Now if they are forced to vote for the other party candidate.

    I suspect it’s more than 3mil.

If things hold steady, there will be 1.5mil more between today and Election Day than we have now.

Fair enough. Do you honestly believe these laws will go unchallenged?

There's a good chance it get challenged in the streets if it doesn't get challenged in court. The Democrats need to slow their roll before they spark a civil war. Their actions the past two years are unbelievable.

I expect they will be but I don't know what good it'll do. I hope something can be done because it's bullshit. The EC is there for a reason. It also helps temper voter fraud.

I cannot wait for the the first state to throw electoral votes in a different direction than their citizens voted.

I don't understand why the "popular vote" people don't see that a different campaign would be run if the goal was to win the popular vote rather than the electoral college. People who don't vote now would likely start voting if they thought it would count.
