    “Fair market value”

It has (or at least should have) no relevencey to new cars. For new cars, the manufacturer sets the price. If dealers decide to ignore the pricing, for Ford at least, dealers can do what ever they want. At the end of the day, only FORD loses. Most Customers walk and go elsewhere. Eventually the dealer finds a sucker to pay their ridiculous number. In the end, alot less FORD units are sold.. and the stock price continues to plumit.

And EVERONE gets pissed off in the process (except maybe the dealer who makes out with selling less cars, but at a higher markup).

Your logic is questionable. This holds true For lame ducks trying to simply flip the cars in a very short period. But for enthusiasts interested in keeping their cars, its doesnt hold true at all. The artificially inflated prices are a flash in the pan and
Last for just a matter of months. A year at best. Meanwhile, for an owner that paid ADM and keeps the car for 3-5 years, that owner will NEVER get that adm back. Its simply gone. And if you are making paymnets on a car with ADM,
You will be deeply underwater after just a matter of months.

We have been through this a few times now, and there is no question that Ford always builds the GT500 to meet demand. Some dealers try to artificially create their own scarcity, which is unfortunate, and not the way the system was intended to work.

But like others have said, the dealers can do whatever they want..

Right up until the point where you walk into a ford dealership, and ford has no cars left to sell and just has SUVs..
