You can measure boost at the manifold as well as boost before the intercooler to see if your intercooler is the problem. I run a F1A-94 through a 6R80 and made 983/826 on 24 psi. I run a custom 24"x6"x12.5" intercooler with 3.5" piping and have about a 1.5psi drop between the inlet and outlet at 24psi. I doubt you're getting that much belt slip with the HOB bracket setup, but it's possible.

Went back last week to try again after swapping to 1300cc injectors and a 4R70 swap, made 850/745 at 6500rpm on first full pull. Second pull was to 7000 and it flatlined on power and boost after 6500. Threw a new belt on and tried again and same thing. Not sure if I have maxed out the intercooler, or maybe getting all I will get out of the stock intake. I went back and watched videos of the pulls and once it hit 22psi around 6300 it just stayed there, so not sure there was much if any belt slip.

Here are both 7000rpm pulls

I also run an F1A with a 4R70 and mines is doing the same... 26 psi at 5500 and boost flatlined to 6000.... mine is cogg’d ... I run a A-W intercooler.... not sure what is going on with it.

I was talking to someone earlier and he was telling me to try the same thing about measuring boost pre and post IC. Will give that a try. FWIW my IC measures 8"X4.5"X12.5 and I too am running 3.5" piping... so I will be curious to see what it shows.

I agree on the belt slip, and I am also running a Griptec pulley... belt slip should be the least of my worries lol

Well if you come across anything, please let me know! What is your intake setup?

I popped the procharger intake last year.... we say 30 psi pre intercooler..... now I’m running a J2 intercooler and J2 turbo hat intake and see 26 psi post intercooler with the same pulley set up...

1. 4V C-Heads (01 Cobra)
2. Type of Blower: Procharger P1SC stage 2 kit
3. Stock long block. 45k miles on motor. Short block Ford warranty replaced at 30k.
4. Stock
5. Stock cams
6. Stock intake,
7. Procharger sheet metal 3 core intercooler
8. Exhaust Combo: BBK full length headers, catless H pipe, flowmaster mufflers.
9. 3.9 inch pulley with Gates K061099 belt. Slightly longer than recommended K061080 belt
10. 6.9psi@5800rpm
11. Turbo guard screen.
12. HP/TQ: 451/418 at 5800rpm for the HP. Recommended to shift at 6k so to keep stock pistons and rods in the block by the tuner. No need to run higher due to increased boost (risk) at higher rpm.

why only spin it to 6200?

if you have a single bolt tensioner be real careful on how far you drop that blower pulley, 3.5-3.6 things start going to shit, ask me how I know.

I referenced the 6200 pull because it took me 6600 to get to the 570 mark previously. So I’m hoping the next time we pull it to 6600 I will gain a good bit of power. What happened with the single bolt tensioner?

The belt routing/belt wrap of the single bolt isn't as good as the old 3 bolt covers, the way the tensioner moves isn't as efficient either. If you get down that small, even with an 8 rib kit, you're going to start having belt slip issues.

What are you going to end up doing with your car setup?

undecided. I've got an alternator situation Im dealing with, waiting for my uncle to turn down the shaft on the back of my new 3.2" alternator pulley. Then hopefully one of the 2 belts I bought will work. If the longer belt is too long I will turn a new standoff and add an idler between the alt and PS pump.

After that the options are
1) Go up a couple sizes on blower pulley, do the math on impeller speed with the stock crank and 3.5" pulley vs a 10% od crank
2) D1X upgrade with a bigger pulley
2) F series with like a 4" pulley

I need to stay in that 15-18# range, don't wanna tap out the ID1000s or fuel pumps, not looking for those kind of expenses
