Sorry for the delay! I finally put this t-stat in and couldn’t be happier along with the recommended fan settings.

The car now sits right at 175-180 degrees. I have seen it creep up to 183-185 driving in town @90+ ambient temps with the AC on. Great mod! With the stock t-stat the car would run anywhere from 200-210 when warmed up.

hey joel i remember meeting you at your place in santa monica and getting one of your very early units!

since then between both my cobras i have probably put about 150k miles on them and still working perfectly.

a great mod to help keep our mod motors cool, happy, and healthy

I picked up a 4D stat back in 2016 it’s been great car runs 20 degrees cooler than it ever has what is the new 3rd gen better at over the one I got back from 2016 would there be any noticeable difference

Sounds like your thermostat is still working well so there probably won't be much of a difference in performance. But you might consider replacing it proactively considering it's age. Once a thermostat is getting close to 10yo it's on borrowed time. I'd say somewhere around 5-7 years would be a good replacement interval, but of course it's possible they can function much longer than that.
