The Performance Package has a few features you can't get on the "lesser" SHO.

The best thing about the package is you can turn off ALL the nannies. Typically, a non-PP car is faster than a PP car when tuned and all things being equal. Most say the PP springs are a pretty harsh ride, but I think it depends on what you're used to and what you're expecting. I have a 2012 Lincoln MKS (fancy SHO) and I love it.

Why would the non pp be faster than the pp?

The PP has shorter gearing and has to shift more. The difference is minimal and if you don't live your life a 1/4 mile at a time, the PP does the job.

The way you said that sentence just confused me.

So get the pp or not if you arent always at the track?

If you're shooting for the fastest 1/4 mile time, the PP equipped car is not the one you want. If it's a DD and you want to knock off some 12's tune only, plan to autocross, do donuts in the snow, etc, get the PP.

I personally was looking for a '13+ PP SHO because I wanted to be able to turn off the nannies and wanted the alcantara steering wheel. Ended up getting a good deal on my MKS, so I went that route.
