Just had a whinning start in the Cobra and am almost positive it is the Throwout Bearing but want to make sure before I pull the tranny and change it. It whines like crazy with the clutch pushed in and gets relatively quiet with the clutch engaged. The issue that is throwing me is the pitch of the noise changes when I have the tranny in neutral and rev the engine. The whine increses and decreases along with the engine revolutions. Is this normal when a throwout bearing is going bad?
My TB is making noise again. Mine squeaks with the clutch disengaged and goes away completely when it is engaged. I cant hear mine when I rev my car but it sounds like a TB to me.
I want to makes sure it is not the Pilot Bearing. Does anyone have any experience with the pilot bearing going out and what it's symptoms are?
