Good news for the s197 guys .... tiger racing has bolt-on hoods now. Tiger racing has contracted with ford racing to supply ford racing with a bolt-on hoods. Paul had to step-up with a bolt-on hood. Fiberglass is 749 or 799 and carbon fibre is 1249 or 1299.

I talked to paul brown about the new 5.0 getting too hot on track in the sunmmer heat. He said the 5.0's that he uses are crate engines, with fluidine radiators and oil coolers and of course his hood design. In oklahoma in 90* weather and 95% humidity they were running 230* water temps and if i remember correctly 270* oil temps. That is spinning the motors up to 8100rpms.

Yeah but the majority of people want a bolt on hood. Those are liftoff hoods.

Im in the process of grafting c/f mounts onto my 03/04 lift off hood so I dont have to mess with taking it on and off every time I want to quickly check the oil. If they work Ill post up some pictures.

I also want to get one soon. Hopefully by the end of this year. Hey 03 DSG Snake how well did the hood fit? Is the fiberglass heavier than stock?

saw the thread title and for a second I thought finally a bolt-on hood for the 99-04s but of course only the S197 get all the attention :nonono:

but seeing the temperatures posted I'd rather keep my 03 GT :lol1:

Bringing this one back to pass on some info.

I called Tiger Racing today and was told that the 99-04 guys can expect a bolt on hood this year around May or so. They recently pulled all the equipment out for the hood and are getting ready to work on the hinges and latch assembly. They would also like to make a hood that works for both the 03/04 cobra bumper as well as all others.
