Throwing out a brand without a model number is worthless. It's like someone asking what car they should by and you blurt out "Ford." Even the best TV brands have crap TV's in their lineup just like Fords can range from a GT to an escort.
Yup, gotta love it.

I was in this same market about 1.5 years ago. Bought a Vizeo P model I believe. Had issues with the volume going up and down on it's own, and didn't purchase a warranty but the store offers 14 day returns. I returned the TV and opted to upgrade to a Samsung UHD and HDR I believe is the technical term they use. It was I think $600 more than the Vizeo but wow night and day difference. Just the actual quality of the outside of the TV and way thinner blew me away. Then when you turn it on dynamic mode the picture just smokes the Vizeo out of the water. It's a really good TV for the money I think. Here is it. Trust me it's not even close between this and the Vizeo P

I'm being told, on the AVS Forum, that the KS8000 from 2016 is better than the 2017 Samsungs & the 6300 is crapola. Something this simple should not be so complicated.

This post is 100% correct. If I didn't buy my OLED it was gonna be the KS8000.

I just bought a Samsung 8 series from Costco. Picture is very nice and because I used my Costco card the warranty is 4 years. No extra cost.

Does anyone else think that Vizio is a "off brand"? Surprised by all the recommendations it gets.

Vizio gets a lot of good reviews now in the budget and mid range value categories. Good bang for the buck.

I'm still enjoying my Panasonic TC-P65VT60. Awesome TV. I hope it'll last for years to come. When it finally dies I'll get a high end LG or Sony OLED.

I consider Vizio an off-brand. As stated above, Vizio gets recommended because they are cheap--and lot of people look at a $1000 tv vs a $2500+ tv and cannot justify the $1500+ price difference. I bought a vizio for a secondary tv/music area. I was going for quantity over quality, and that's exactly what I got.

I just complimented my Vizio Mid tier 4k (last years model) with a 4k Fire TV set top. Definitely completed the whole situation. Much happier with the Fire TV. If they ever come out with a Samsung or LG or Vizio with Fire TV built in I will definitely go that route next time.

Question. When you say fire TV you're referring to Amazon? Is this basically like a Amazon firestick/tv box built into the tv? If so can Kodi and other apps be installed on fire TV?

I bought a samsung 4k and my buddy bought the M series vizio 4k at the same time, the picture quality on his was really underwhelming honestly, even the menu just looked ugly even though that's mostly irrelevant. That being said the smart functions on my samsung suck serious ass (glitchy and sometimes just don't work period or internet constantly disconnects) while his hasn't had any of those issues

IMO Sony has the nicest picture I've seen in the same price range and I wish that is what I bought

Are you using yours over wifi, or is it hard wired to the router? My samsung TV is hardwired and it works great, even when my wifi network is being stupid.

Correct. Fire TV as in the Operating System. They've started producing Element TV's with it built in. While it's a deal, I'd prefer to have a better panel/brand.

What I purchased wasn't the stick but the set top box that has a better processor, graphics, ram, and storage expansion.

I hate my fire tv stick. Its SOOOOO SSSSSLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW. My old roku is about 15 times faster. One of these days I will buy another roku to replace the fire tv stick.

What gen is it? And isn't jail broken?

I have a virgin Fire Stick up stairs in the bedroom. It's about a month old. Very snappy and doesn't have any issues.

Its not the current gen but the prior which I think is Gen 1. Not jail broken.

Ah, I misunderstood your post. I read it as the Vizio 4K TV had it built in, really sparked my interest. I agree, not interested in an Element brand TV with it built in.
