Whats the widest rear tire i can fit under these stock rear wheel wells on stock wheels on my teal 93? I see some stagger them and they look SLICK..

Most people put a 275/40R17 on the back. Technically, our 7.5" wheels are too narrow for that size, but it certainly looks good!

Yeah, it's safe - it just doesn't provide an optimal treadwear pattern. My 91 Notch has 275/40 Drag Radials on an 8" wheel and it works just fine.

I can't comment on clearance as I don't run that tire on my 93. It doesn't rub on my 91, but it's a totally different animal

275/40/17 will fit with no rubbing on stock tailpipes, possible rubbing on aftermarket pipes.

Not sure I'd offer a blanket, "yup it's safe". I surely wouldn't want to run a tire that wide on stock wheels if my plans were to play at open track events.
