I run 305 35 18 R888R's at 28psi. I'm around 600whp. Once they're warm dead hook in 2nd, but 1st I have to ease into it or it'll just melt the tires. I have full suspension on coils etc so I like them for the turns as well.

I run MTs and recently started noticing a vibration on the highway. Is that where people notice it? I have about 1400 miles on the tires.

One of mine vibrated like crazy right around 100. I had them too long before I used them at the track to send it back. I use Nitto's on the street, handle way better than the MT's

I had tqs until I bought new wheels which is when I got r888rs and I must say the r888rs actually hook way better than tqs. I’m at 700rwhp and the tqs would spin 2nd on a 50 pull but the r888rs hook. I personally love them and will be sticking to them.

Got my R888’s mounted today. 305/35/18’s. We have the meats. They look awesome on the car. Nice sidewall and minimal bulge.

I’ll get better pics soon. Was in a rush to get to work.

I liked my R888Rs on the stock rims. Hooked decent at 500w for being a 275.

I now have 315 Nitto 555 DRs and they hook well too.

I’ll probably stick with the nittos out back but when the fronts are due I’ll go with the R888Rs.

How old were the TQ's before you replaced them?

This.

I've been running the r888 for years. Usually I can dead hook 2nd gear at 40 mph. Unless it's under 50 degrees outside, then it's hit or miss.

Back when I was making 455/479 I could dead hook 1st.

R888Rs need to be at 160-220°F for optimum operating temps. They need nearly as much of a burnout as a DR to get sticky. They will not, of course, be as sticky as a true DR but they're decent.

Maybe 4 years. Only about 1500 miles on them. I still have them just on another set of wheels and I wouldn’t drive on them the way I drive on the r888rs.

I'm guessing that's for me. And that's probably the problem. They get old like anything else even with low mileage. I had a similar issue with the 555R's that I had for a couple years. They just lose their stickiness. I was able to blow them off at 50mph when I was "low boost" on the Whipple.

I will add that the car feels more stable at higher speeds with the R888R's. Above 120ish the car would start to shake a little. I thought it was something in my suspension set up. I went to the Toyos and no more shake.

No spacers. Yes my fenders are rolled.

18x10 TF Mach 5’s, H&R race springs. Over big bumps, they rub on the rear bumper near the screw, not on the fenders.

what size R888R's would you recommend for rear 18x10 saleen wheels on an otherwise stock Cobra?

I don't mind replacing the IRS bolt since that seems easy, but don't really want to roll my fenders

Anyone running the Toyo HP Extensa II? It's the cheapest 275/40-17 they have at Discount Tire and it'll sorta match the Toyo Proxes I have in the back.
