Went to a wedding last Sunday, parked in the shade and when I came out my car looks like it's got metal flake because the pine trees next to it dripped like a fine mist of sap on it.

What's the best way to get this crap off of it? Will the typical car wash soap work?

you don't need a clay bar, though it won't hurt, try the regular auto wash first, if that doesn't work swing by a harley dealership and pick up some S100 Total Cycle cleaner spray on your paint let dwell for a minute or two, spray off and BAM no more tree sap, i did this yesterday.

I always wash mine before that crap sets on the finish but usually a normal wash takes it right off. I have like 21 coats of wax on my car though.

I have several oak trees on my property. They are beautiful trees but they shit all over my cars. During certain parts of the year I have to wash my cars almost daily to get the tree sap off. Just use normal car soap and it should come right off. Do not let it sit on the paint.
