Trump to Revoke California’s Authority to Set Stricter Auto Emissions Rules
Hope this goes through !
I hope this does go through. Some of the things Ca does definitely goes past what is considered legal. Such as road side smog setups that require people to be illegally pulled over when they have not committed a crime to do a random smog test.
Couldn't finish the article. Stopped after "taking a major step forward in a wide ranging attack on government efforts to battle global warming."

Hope the supremes uphold Trump, otherwise you could have 50 states with 50 standards.
CA is getting worse every single year. You can't stop the cancer from spreading. Sooner or later the smog laws will be so ****ing bad, everyone will drive a Prius or Tesla. I mean for **** sake you can't even have loud exhaust. No body can save CA. Nobody.
I was just in Cali for 2 weeks, there were a TON of loud exhaust.
Good. I think it is ridiculous that the automakers have to cater to multiple standards in the same country. It only drives up the costs for everyone. Plus, I absolutely love it when Kalifornicate loses.
Be interesting to watch how the supreme court rules on this down the road.
State rights vs federal rights.
Could have some long term repercussions depending on how the wording is in their decision.
If the commerce clause doesn't apply, pretty huge.
Technically they don't have to. Just stop selling cars to that state until they get inline with the rest of the country.
Problem with that is that auto makers would lose millions of dollars and people would lose there jobs. California sales alot of vehicles. Then you would essentially give the market to tesa i n ca
I wish auto manufactures would all at once decide to stop wasting time and R&D on a completely different set of Commiefornia emission standards and just stop selling cars in that state. Sure, they’d lose quite a few sales at first. But once the wealthy hypocrites in that state realize they can’t just walk down Rodeo Dr and buy another Ferrari, something tells me Trump wouldn’t have to get involved at all. They themselves would demand the state fall in line.
Its not that simple. But if your ok with people losing there jobs at the big 3 auto makers that must make it ok. Tesla will be more than happy to add to there sales and maybe actually make a profit.
Honestly its a good thing trump is stepping. This could force CA hand and keep from auto sales dropping and possible job lose.
A Ferrari and Lamborghini and the others dont fall into the same restrictions as your mass production vehicle. There sales would not be impacted.
I bet the state of california would cry uncle first....then again they are run by complete imbeciles...
the argument "but that will cost jobs" to keep shitty legislation that costs the taxpayer and the consumer is a dumpster fire on wheels line of argumentation. here's why: those people can still be employed at the company elsewhere and if ALL they can do in life is be a tick on the back of the taxpayer/consumer then they need to expand their personal career portfolios.
With the people running the state they could care less they will get anything they want. Its the Ca citizens and the auto makers that would suffer
Well I guess if people are starting to lose their jobs, they’d probably be the first in line to start demanding that California stop with the superfluous CAFE regulations.
And I was bring a bit facetious with the Ferrari example. But even at the FoMoCo/GM/Chrysler level, no more car sales in the state would encourage change and the backing down of Californian government overreach.
I'm waiting to see all the Ds start making limited Fed gov / state's rights arguments. It's going to give the troll farms plenty of new meme material to work with.
My cobra wont pass because I have a cold air intake and a 65mm throttle body with no carb markings on it, but my car burns perfectly clean. But then you see a 340k mile 97 camry blowing quarts of oil past the rings driving on the highway or a diesel blowing s*** all the way down the street, lmao.
Wait until I show up with an MCI bus RV conversion with a Sreamin' Jimmy in the back. Turns diesel fuel into smoke and noise (and a small amount of power), and is perfectly legal in CA.
