So I am pretty certain I have a vacuum leak behind the eaton because for a while it was makin a whistling noise and now it sounds like an air leak, which is also causing my car to not idle properly sometimes. My question is, from looking at my pics below, which part do I need to replace to fix this?

This picture shows where the leak sounds like it is coming from.

This one shows where the hose leads to around the right side of the eaton

I put this one up to show the other side of the hose and to ask whether this thing I'm holding at the end is normal? I bought the car as it is and I'm not sure if this is stock or not.

When I move this hose around, the noise changes a little so that is why I assume its from there.

I have this exact same problem! a whistling noise and bad idle. Cant figure out where its at though. Yes that part your holding is stock, i believe its part of the boost by pass valve.

First, clean that poor thing! There are two big vac ports on the back of the blower start there. You can also take a propane torch(unlite, lol) and check to see if your car smooths out while it`s idleing.

    leak

    +1 on clean that thing...

on the back of your eaton you will see 2 black elbows,,

1 is for what you are showing..
the other is for pcv system

on mine the two black hoses(elbows) were rubbing together and caused a leak,,,it also whistled....

i also replaced the whole vaccum harness...found other problems in harness

    goodluck

    leak

also looking at pic your vaccum hoses are hooked up wrong..

the one that says gas/fuel on it goes to nipple on air duct before throttle body,
than the tiny hose goes where the big hose is

Are you talking about the last pic he posted? If so,the`re right. The small one going into the intake is from the boost bypass.

So it turns out the joint connection in the back of the blower that leads to the pcv valve had a nice sized hole in it. I replaced it and it runs like a dream. Thank you guys.

I also found out that I have to replace my auxiliary idler because its about to break off.
