very light pedel, with lots of noise

I have a 03 cobra with about 60k on it with stock clutch, that was stock all the way up too 59k and now it just has a ported blower and upper pulley setup with proper tune etc. Now for my clutch question, i was driving home and the pedal got very light feeling and grabs within the first 1-2 inches of travel with the rest of the pedal being dead. It also is making a awful noise when applying presure to the pedal, but not really sliping while in gear. Any ideas on what that would be caused by? I want to upgrade clutches anyways but not sure that is the current problem I am having. thanks for any help
