The annual ego fest is on in Phoenix, Speed always covers it very well. Always fun to watch, my buddies and I refer to it as the more money than brains club. Amazing what can happen when you get a bunch of half hammered guys with a lotta money (and apparently not a lot of car knowledge) in the same tent. My fave so far this year is the 70 Camaro Z28 with a 302 that was very "collectable" because it had the "ultra-rare" 4 wheel disk brake set-up, apparently a steal at $109K :rollseyes .

Wonder of we'll see another "Eleanor" clone going for $190K like we did last year. If you recall that one, it was some guy with a tits-on-a-stick blond on his arm who kept him bidding. What was really funny is the next car up was an aluminum CSX4000 continuation 427 Shelby Cobra that went for $90K, that was the bargain.

Yeah, bud, it's on now. Primo Boss '9 in Calypso Corral just went under the hammer for $117K, if it's the car I think it is, it sold in OKC less than a month ago for about $80K.

was it a thourobred resto? I would like to find a 70 for like 65k do you know of any? a "fixer upper" if you will. I know a guy in montana who has a 19000 original mile 69 boss 9 in white. he hauled it all the way up to saskatchewan on an open trailer behind a 79 ford. then he fired it up and did a smokeshow. its all original but the original batterey and tires were left at home. it had the polyglas tire though. he has like 20 some cars inc. a REAL 66 cobra, a thunderbolt, a galaxie with a cammer many more.

Yeah, Freak, no doubt that was a 100 point car, if it's the same one I know. I think you could find a 70 Boss '9 in the $60-70K range that would be a very nice one, indeed, probably a very nice #1 driver. Funny, how cheap the Boss '2's are going for, especially the 69's. They made fewer than half the number of 69 Boss 302's to Shelbys, in the low $30's they're almost a bargain.

yeah I know the 302's are nice cars too. a buddy in the mustang club got a grabber yellow 70 with spoilers/shaker/slats for around 35 last year from colarado. he sold a really rare 100 point yellow GT500KR auto.

Watched all of the auction so far. short while ago they sold a 67 shelby gt-500 for $230,000. there are alot people there with some serious cash. I gotta hit the damn lottery. the guy who got those 4 callaway's for $685,000 was cool. its nice to have enough cash where you can just bid higher until its yours. God Bless America.
