All i know is gears are going to happen soon! Even though it was a 96 gt with 309rwhp it pulled. Ill definitley go 4.10 or possibly 3.73: seems alot of people run 4.10 on 96-98 cobras?

309rwhp is a touch more than most full bolt on 96-98 cobras make lol I'm sure it felt even better with the 4.10s

All gears pull GREAT with 4.56's.

And it is NOT too much gear on the freeway.

I drive mine everywhere. No hesitation or sweat at all.

I've rode in a few 3.73 4v's and it seriously just wasn't enough gear compared to a 4.10 car. No less than a 4.10, I think a 4.30 would probably be perfect.

373s here and I didnt feel a difference to the OEM 327s. Would 410s be good option for boosted set ups ?

I've been driving 23k miles with 4.30s on mostly the highway and a little bit of city, and I'm at 3,200rpm at 80mph. I get 250-270 miles to a full tank of gas on the highway. 220-250 in city and highway. Don't fear the gear. You will not regret 4.30s!!! Everyone just gets it in your head that omg thats such a small gear, but in reality these motors love to rev.

I get great MPG with 4.10s
If MPG is a concern, you've chosen the wrong hobby.

Anyone here put 4.10 or higher on their DD and hated them?
I was seriously thinking about putting 4.10 but the previous owner of my car told me he used to have 3.73 and hated them, it was too "racey" and was getting bad gas mileage, so he ended up putting 3.55 instead (gas mileage is not a HUGE concern but I barely get 17mpg and I don't really want to have much less than that).
Putting new gears is pretty expensive so I want to make sure :)
(I am 99% using my car as a DD with the VERY occasional auto-x)
