I am helping a friend with an 03 Mach and he is putting an 03/04 cobra engine and trans in. He’s going to need to go return style to support the Whipple he wants to put on. He’s targeting 800 hp.

What all does he need?

The Mach has the same dual pump hat and returnless setup?

If not, you’ll really just need the tank from a cobra. Kit comes with hat, pumps, hose, regulator and connections to hook to factory rails or aftermarket rails.

Go on lethal and see if the return system for 03-04 cobra covers the Mach. If so, just order a kit but I’d go fore.

The only real difference on the Mach tank is the lack of the baffle to keep the pumps from sucking the tank dry under WOT @ high power levels like this. Im not sure the terminator tanks are still available.

like you said though - the rest is just picking out a quality kit. I would get something with PTFE lining and a controller so your pumps aren't running full tilt all the time. To run the system dead-head or not seems a bit controversial, I would talk to your tuner before making a final decision. Make sure you account for adequate fueling if you're ever gonna run E85 etc...

He’s got the cobra tank, cobra fuel hat and twin cobra pumps.

Was hoping for a link to a setup. Thanks.

No need in going return for that.

Will need rails as the cobras are maxed before 500rwhp.

Two 450 pumps and two regular fpdms.

Will need to run an 8an line.

Thats interesting. Ive replaced more than a few to resolve lean out issues below 500rwhp.

I'll be sure to look else where next time.

Given that he's doing a drivetrain swap I'd say he's pretty handy. I would suggest drawing out what he wants and figuring out the fittings. I've installed a couple of kits and always ended up needing an extra fitting or two. When we did my sons car we started from scratch and it worked out better.

You’ve done it more than me, but Malcolm Strydom tunes and builds and said the stock rails are fine until approaching 800whp. Didn’t want to pull my blower for rails.

Kevin Dunn tuned and no issues.
