They sell them on antigravity batteries site; they are pricey but have a bunch of useful cool stuff like they hold a charge to start the car no matter what.

Screwed the multiquote up but last time i checked bob they are like $650-850 but that was over a year ago. Antigravity makes a bunch of batteries for different applications on their site.

H5/Group-47 Lithium Car Battery heres their link for you and anyone wondering.

$750 USD so not cheap...lol. I bought the 30ah version. H5/Group-47 Lithium Car Battery

Unfortunately it's not a direct fit either. It's 3/8" too long and too narrow for the stock tray and the + and - posts are reversed position. I was able to make it all work pretty easy but will be a problem if you don't want to mod your stock cables.

Good info, @olympic. What is the life expectancy on a lithium ion battery? At that price of $750, I expect it should greatly outlive other batteries. "Wireless Jump-Starting built-in; just press the button on your Keyfob remote" is pretty cool. The wireless re-start capability INSTANT re-start is amazing. No more jump starting. No opening your hood. Just press their FOB and start and go!

You said you had to make a couple of modifications to your car, BUT their video claims that NO modifications are needed; it's a direct, drop-in replacement. False advertising???

Here is a notation that I found on their website.
"OEM FITMENT: Exact Lead/Acid Replacement sizes. No additional modifications or trays necessary to install."

I just watched the great, but long, video. Life span is 8-10 years. Impressive.

I'm confused. The main video states that their lithium battery will never sulfate, so there is no need to remove it as you would do with a regular lead battery. But their lithium battery charger video says that step 1 of 10 is to remove the build-up of sulfate in their battery.

Is it possible they mean to remove the sulfate from the previous lead battery before installing the Lithium ion battery?
Especially since it is step 1

I bought their H6/Group 48 battery for my F150 and it dropped right in, no mods at all. They recommend the H5/Group 47 battery for all Mustangs but our cars take a Group 59. The 47 is about 3/8" too long, 3/8" too narrow and the posts are reversed. I wouldn't recommend this battery for Cobra owners UNLESS you are doing the big 3 cable upgrade or doing a trunk mount.

To get it to fit I trimmed the kick-outs off one end of the battery with a utility knife. The plastic is hollow so it cuts fairly easily.

Then I placed a piece of hard foam rubber between the hold-down clamp and the battery to take up the gap.

My motorcraft has lasted that long at 130 dollars. It's still going, but might replace it soon.

New shoes, tires, ID plaques, shifter, and knob. Sourcing the wheels was a serious pain in my ass. Plenty of places list them in stock when really they’re 6-8 weeks out. Anyway...

    Forgestar D5s
    18x9 - Nitto G2 275/35
    18x10 - Nitto NT555II DRs 305/35

Compared with the 18” AFS chrome reps, I shaved off 28lbs in total. 5lbs each corner in front and 9lbs each in the rear. Granted the AFS rears are 10.5” wide with 315/35 TQs so it’s not totally apples to apple.

Swapped out the Tri-ax for an MGW and couldn’t be happier. The knob is from the last batch supplied by 1s9v9t7. It’s a very nice piece!

I had big dreams of taking some nice pics yesterday to share on here, but chores got in the way so all I have for now are a few crappy driveway shots.

Last week, I finally made it to the track. Took the cobra down for an easy pass. Blew the seal on the old journal bearing at the end. Decided to retire the old girl after 10 years.
Today finished up fab work on the new turbo. Waiting on bigger injectors to start on the tune next. 20210516_113121.jpg 20210509_120211.jpg

Not sure I’ve ever seen a low mount single.

    What kit?

Thanks for posting what you had to do to make the battery fit.

Looks awesome! I saw those wheels in one of your other posts. Nice.
