I'm 21, and I get raped by the insurance company.
What are you guys around my age paying?
hehehe yeah we all get raped! i'm still on my parents insurance (just turned 18), but by myself it was gonna be $256 a month with no tickets or accidents. btw, i'm driving a 94 RED Cobra which prob doesnt help much
Edit: also, for locational purposes i live in Everett, WA
$136 for the Cobra and SUV.
$4000/year without a good student discount for full coverage
but i get good student so its ONLY $3300/year
oh yeah, i have a perfect record right now too...
$800/year with "AAA" , 35, married, no tickets or accidents, in
Kansas City MO
Oh I forgot, Progressive Quoted (on the net) my 16 year old daughter $3600/6 months
$1600 a year for full coverage and lowest deductables
~ 23 yrs old
~ a speeding ticket
~ (1) at fault & (1) no fault accident
~ good student
$280 a month for the cobra and a '99 Explorer...........
One Ticket and one not my fault accedent ( a girl backed in to the cobra in a parking lot about a year ago!!!!!!)
That really sucks! My insurance company can BURN!
I called them, and their original quote was for $414/mo. (That's w/ $1,000 deductable, and multiple car discount)
I'm 21, male, and have a supremely clean driving record.
Not only that, before I got the Cobra, I had a V-8 T-bird, which wasn't much, but still considered "high performance".
I never got pulled over with it, and my ins company knows that.
lol- They also told me I couldn't keep both cars. I have to sell my bird (and take a nasty loss seeing as how I put at least $5,000 in aftermarket into it) b/c they won't cover me on two high performance vehicles. And, they said If I ever get a speeding ticket they are doing to drop my whole family.
Piss on those fools. I'm going shopping!
I did have an "accident" on my record though. Because I bumped into a gate at my apartment in Houston. And it was 700 in damage. I ended up paying out of pocket to keep my ins record clean. But, they failed to realize that. I had to call them and bitch on the phone for hours. The underwriter said it'll be a lot cheaper than what I was origionally quoted w/o the accident. So, we'll see.
I'm kind of pissed that guys 16 year old daughter can drive one for over $100 a mo. less than me!!
I just realized, w/ my car payment + insurance.....I could've bought a $100,000 home and had nearly the same payment! lol
What insurance company do you have?
That is not a bad payment at all! Only $20 bucks more a month that what I paid on the bird.
Tell them I said, "What's up?"
Die Ins. co.......DIE :cuss:
Just a little info ...
All of you should take a moment to check, but if anyone in your family (mother / father generally) was in the military or you were ... you should be insured with USAA. Their rates are outstanding, very reasonable and their service is impeccable. I have been with them for about 3 years now, and with 1 99 Yukon 4x4, 1 96 Cobra Coupe, 1 02 SVT Lightning and 1 65 Sunbeam Tiger, I pay around $4200 a year. Not to bad for a 29 year old with 1 speeding ticket, and not married yet. I live in California so my rates are higher to begin with and in San Francisco so my rates take another hike.
Also check out places like www.insuance.com for online quotes and ammunition for when you want to go "talk" to your insurance agent about your rates.
Also www.insweb.com is another online insurance website for comparision and purchase. Hope this helps.
I think mine was like $85 or $95 a month back when I had my car.
Married, multicar, no wrecks, no tickets, drivers ed (yeah 10 years ago) 25. Of course we showed it as my wife driving it. It was cheaper to show me on her 00 v6 accord with higher liability since it was a lease than me on the cobra. Clean record for her too. Total we were paying $169 a month. State Farm.
Im 38 married live in NH I have 100,000-300,000 coverage 250 deductable 97 cobra convert no points for over 4 years been insured with nationwide for 12 years I have a 17 year old daughter and a 18 year old son with 3 tikets in 2 years. Several cars and home owners with them and the premium on the cobra is 383.50 for 6 months I will never complain abought it again
The last post from WASNTME brings up a very good point, the limits and deductable can help or hinder your rates. My coverage is 300k/750k (I own my own company) with $1000 deductable. I only have my auto's through my insurance company, so I don't get the home owners discount.
816 a month with 3 wrecks, 14 tickets and I am 18. So I drive around with no insurance.
Chris, your post reminds me of a line off of "The Blues Brothers". "His name is like a rash all over the system". Referring of course to Elwoods driving record.
im 18 with 3 tickets
just got a red '95 cobra and its like $300+ a month
I checked out that insurance.com.
I ended up getting a pretty damn good deal.
Glad to hear it, cause of course by lowering your insurance rates the signifigant other in your life can enjoy more evenings on the town...
Now the real question is... what did he mean by that
$140 a month for the Cobra and a Ninja
