Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
All depends on your perspective. If you are Treynor, that sounds reasonable.
Year to date I have literally earned $120.
I had a sloot give me a hundred dollar bill for returning her wallet full of cash in Florida on new years and I did not want it. Then I earn $10 every time I donate my blood.
I own my time.
Yes my wife still works and is “killing it”;)

Your points are valid. The question wasn’t around wealth or discretionary income. You are correct that those can be widely different. It was just specific to annual income. I was curious what the forum defined as “killing it” specific to annual income.

Really is a difficult question. Made more difficult with the annual income.

My “normal” is 140k. Prob 155k with rental income average over the last 10yrs.

With real estate sales (investor/landlord) I did 210/225/310k in 19’, 20’, 21’ respectively.

Now I’ve sold everything so it’s back to normal but looking for the next move.

Average income in the region def has to come into play. Think it’s like 43k here or something lol

I was having this conversation with a few friends and we came up with a really good answer.

There's levels.
So if you have a car(s), house, boat etc.

It's all the same quality of life overall.
I.e... if you have a 2bed/2 bath, f150 and a mustang.
Or Mc mansion, with a Mclaren....SAME quality of life overall.

To level up you next have to be in the private jet lifestyle. That's what turns life up a notch.

So killing = House, car(s), private jet money.

I believe multiple polls have have shown that quality of life doesn’t improve over a certain dollar amount.

It was 75k a year when I saw several of these about a decade ago.

Not lying.

My dad worked for Haggar clothing as a sales rep in the 70s and 80s. Was making 120k yr in 79’ when I was born. That was loaded back then.

My dad made 25k in 79. We had a house, two cars, a motorhome and a boat. Mom probably made about 10k.

I remember that. Something to the extent that if a family of 4 is making 35k a year or so and then all of a sudden is making 100k their lives are drastically improved. Whereas a family of 4 that's making 200k or so and then all of a sudden makes 300k or so their quality of life doesn't really change.

I can agree with this. I’ve made $110-$150 for the last several years. Last year I made $400 and change, this year I’ll make $600+, but it doesn’t feel any different. Usually you just acquire more shit.

Someone link the “6 figures” thread.

My first house in ‘09 cost 78,500
Sold it for 106 in ‘16

It was a fine starter home. Don’t need a lot to make yourself comfortable around here.

I moved from the Seattle area about 5 years ago to Maine. We got 2 times the house and 40 times the acreage for 40% of the money. Still making Seattle area money. Not "killing it" but I can't complain.
