What shots to get for Africa

I'm going to be attending a school in South Africa in April. I'll be down there for 3 months. Just seeing if anybody knows what to get. Yellow fever etc?

there was is like 11 when i went and had to be spread out over months. like rabies typhoid, mumps hep A, and a s**t load more. only for a 2 week trip to kilimanjaro

It depends entirely on the country and if you plan to travel to neighboring countries while you are there.

Travelers' Health | CDC is a good source of info.

as stated earlier sometimes you need to get started a few months early in order to get everything you need because some require more than one shot

I'm going to Morocco, Africa in August. You don't need any shots there. Try visiting the government's website.

For example, Morocco's information site is http://maec.gov.ma/en/visiinterEN.htm

States that you do not need anything if coming from Europe or America.

South Africa is worse off than Northern Africa. Very disease happy area.

Rubella
Tetanus
Yellow fever
Hep
and **** it Rabies also
Biggest worry besides HIV in that area is TB that area has an large endemic population of TB
I would also get yourself on docy when you go.
besides that I have a large laundry list of disease from my Med area study, good luck
