First year was the 89 SHO. 90-92 was GEN 1, 93-95 GEN 2 w/3.2 ATX, 96-98 GEN 3. No they do not make the SHO after 98. The best year to hook up IMHO is a 94/95 MTX. If you want the fastest but with a GEN 2 look, then a 92. If you just plain want the fastest you would buy a 89. Technology wasnt in effect yet, i.e. ABS, Airbags, etc.

SHO available 89 thru 99.
89-95 V6, 89-92 5-speed only
96-99 V8, Auto only
Ther earlier 5-speeds are quicker than the ATX

No No J

89-91 = Gen 1 All Manuals, 89s are said to be the 'fastest' due to being the lightest, due to no airbags and no abs

92-95 = Gen 2, with the ATX being introduced in 93 and bored out to 3.2L to give it a lil more bottem end torque to 'keep up' with the manual SHOs

96-99 = Gen 3 SHOs All 3.4L V8s and ATXs. More of a Luxury SEdan than the previous 6 years of 'Sports Sedans'

99 SHO, also being the stripped down SHO IMHO. Basically it came to engines left over with SHO body styles. Electronic suspension was taken out, SHO rims left out, and damn radio antenna doesnt go down.

I'll agree with Jay... the '94-'95's are the best. I believe the brakes were upgraded in '94. I like these body styles the best.

Yes they were, the 89-93s were 10.5" roots vs the 94-95s being 10.8 if I remember right. Different caliper brackets too.

Yes production did drop quite a bit for the MTXs especially the 94/95 SHOs, which are mostly ATXs. Kinda like the TBird SCs had the same thing. The last 2 years there wasn't many Manuals.
