What's it going to take for the terminator to complete with the new Shelby GT 500?

HP to weight, a 2003-4 Cobra will need at least a 2.3L Whipple and get to 600 HP and equal a 2013-14 stock GT500. Adding in all the new tech dual clutch auto ect for the GT500 and doesn't look good for the Cobra. E85 "may" change things however. These are all at 93 Octane:

I have beaten a few GT500's (stock & modified) in my Whipple cobra. I have also done a fair share of highway pulls in Mexico next to some fast Coyotes as well and these 6R/10R and DCT cars are very hard to compete with but are not unbeatable. Nothing that some HP and seat time can't overcome.

I think the main point being driven is that a Terminator, with the same whp and wtq as a new GT-500, should lose to the GT-500. The DCT is a game changer. YOUR point, @CustomX, which is definitely valid, is that a Terminator with the manual making more power than the GT-500 can overcome that DCT advantage with the additional power and with sufficient shifting experience. Both vehicles can be beasts/terrors on both the street and the track, as we all know.

Had to be a generous dyno, to put up less than 6 % drive train loss.

It’s going to be tough with the stock 8.5:1 compression. And you either need to be a very good manual driver, or have a well built auto setup.

LS7 TT swap.
In all seriousness, a pair of Nagasaki Noise Makers and a 3rd Pedal delete would do the trick.

Straight line performance isn't exactly rocket science.

Power + Grip + Fast Shifts

1320 had a video years ago of a turbo blue Cobra and a modded ZR1.

Cobra was slightly faster but absolutely terrifying to drive while the ZR1 was very composed and easy to manage.

To whet your appetite, Brady. 2003 Cobra (VMP blower, low 600whp) vs. 2021 GT-500 (stock except for intake). Rolls from 50mph and 60mph. Here's a quote from the Cobra owner, "I was hoping for a W but that DCT was not having it lol".
