Bro none of us have a crystal ball. We all would have bought dozens of those watches if we did.

Getting into the watch game is dangerous business. I would be embarrassed to tell you how much money and how many watches my dad has bought and traded. He’s had them all. 6 figgah watches.
It’s dangerous because no matter what you buy. You will always want the next one. It never ends.
Don’t get into it for the investment game. There’s better ways to make money than speculating on watches. Best advice is buy the watches you like.
When you start wearing 5 figgah beatah watches you got a problem.
Unless you got megabucks.

I just ordered a 50th anniversary Kermit. They are spendy but I think that these will hold their value well. I chose the kermit over the hulk and the starbucks as I think the smaller case and more classic look will age very well. Just my opinion but I think the chunkiness of the hulk might fall out of favor. The sea dwellers do not hold as strong as subs and I think some of it might be the chunkiness.

That’s a nice watch. Congrats.
Where did you order from?
Wearing my Sea Dweller Deep Sea today. A massive Rolex but wears very comfortable and fits my size well.

Nice. The deep sea is a serious piece.

I bought from Authentic in Atlanta. No sales tax and they knock off 3% if you pay with a bank wire.

Looks fake.

I bought my last Rolex and Cartier off Chrono24. Good experience both times. They don't monitor the messaging so if you find something local you can cut a deal outside the system.

Geez, I am simple and just want a datejust with the fluted bezel, blue, slate, white or green face and the oyster band. New it retails for $8300. When I bought my wife’s engagement ring, this watch was $2700(17 years ago). Her ring was $10k And she never bought me the watch. I have looked at them ever since and still want one. Almost bought a tag Caribbean edition while in St. Lucia 5 years ago, it was $2600 and had a blue face with a map of the Caribbean on the face. I suppose I will but the Rolex after selling my stock in the copper mine within the next 2-3 years

Copper mine... wouldn't happen to have a name that starts with an E, would it?

C24 charges 7.5%. I refuse to pay fees or taxes. Kermit with box and card was 18.2 OTD from Swiss Watch Expo. Same watch was 20 + sales tax on bobs.

Most people hit up main spots. Another forum is Watch You Seek (WUS).
I know this is controversial but if you want Rolex looks at Seiko prices check out Replica Watch Info (RWI). They go after people who try to sell the reps as genuine at gen prices. The quality is becoming close impossible for even watch experts to discern the differences.

As for watches I might have a couple, lol! All gens here and a batch more laying around.

A buddy of mine pays pretty good money for high quality replicas and they are very nice. If you want a Rolex but don't want to play the pricing game Grand Seiko is solid competition. I'm trying to decide between a Breitling Premier B01 panda and a GS Snowflake at the moment. I'm leaning toward the in-house chrono but the spring drive movements are incredible.

That snowflake is getting legendary status.

My first thought is you guys are all crazy for spending that kind of money on watches, but then I think about all the money I have spent at casinos and I guess I’m the crazy one.

My first thought too, but then don't we all have a hobby or 2 that we spend thousands of dollars on that I'm sure others would think we are crazy. My poison is motorcycles and firearms. I like watches and would love to purchase a higher end one a little ways down the road though.

Seiko really has a market for all budgets. Though I have had quite a few acquaintances never knew Seiko made high end and world respected watches. Some would m very buy a Grand Seiko because the Seiko name implies cheap to them.

Most of my Seiko watches are JDM and limited. I don't buy for investment but I am surprised that my Zimbe 11 and 12 are hitting the 4-5 grand ranges now.
^^love me some seikos. Second favorite behind rolex
A better shot of the ol sbgh269.

Black butte copper mine in white sulfur springs, Mt. Stock is SRAFF (sand fire resources) first new mine in decades with super high concentration of ore, safety and environmentals are the highest priority. It’s reviving an almost dead town and surrounding communities.
