Went with 3:73's in mine and I couldnt believe how much it woke the car up from my 3:55's. IMO gears are the best "seat of the pants" mod you could do

Love my 3.27s, still planning on a Posi Port with a lower pulley or go all out with a 2.9 whipple. Easy to change we I can do all the work myself.

Not sure yet.......on the setup.

Why not 3.27's as an option

This.

Let the motors torque do the work. Unless you are a hardcore DR'er I say gear it up. Terminators are highway cars anyway.

If I were you I would be more worried about what setup you run with that straight axle. I recommend either a torque arm with a panhard bar or watts link, or a Steeda 5 link setup. Fords factory 4 link geometry leaves much to be desired and they tried to get too smart with their upper control arms and offset them to the lowers to make it where they could eliminate the need for a panhard bar and it just works like shit. The aftermarket setups I mentioned work very well.

I vote 3.55s. Best gearing for all around everything IMO.

I love my 327s. Averaging 20.5 mpg to 23.5 mpg, depending on my driving. Usual 60/40 split highway and city. Shifting under 1700 rpms. With a fair amount of idling in traffic. I'm at 170 miles at half a tank right now. Best mileage and performance had been with BP fuel. I always use 4-6 oz of Lucas fuel treatment at every fill up.

Not sure if the Whipple is going to happen, but POSI is in my future for sure. Had 410s, too much for a DD car. Traction was a mother. Just my 2 cents.

All depends on your plans for the car.

so you are running a stock Eaton, stock transmission with 3.27s?
how is acceleration in 5th and 6th gear and what is your top speed?

I'm debating between keeping my 4.10s which I hate because of the useless 1-3 gear but love because 5th and 6th work very well, or swapping to 3.27s where 1-3 gear are going to be great but I'm worried that the car will not have enough power to actually move forward in 5th and 6th therefore killing my top speed. right now I run out of 6th gear at 160mph
