Just finished my newest build.

Scores right around 15,500 in 3dmark11

I love building gaming rigs!

I am in the process of building a new PC, but it won't be done too soon. My current build is:

  • i7 2600K @ 5.2 Ghz
  • Gigabyte Windforce GTX670 @ 1306 MHz core / 1851 MHz memory
  • 8GB (2x4GB) AData DDR3 @ 1600 MHz @ 8-8-8-24
  • Windows 8.1 Professional x64

Since I love comparing scores, my PC does P10777 in 3dMark 11:

I scored something around 4800 with my 560ti. The damn 970 was worth 10,500 points alone!

I think I have changed my mind on getting a 970. I told myself if I am going to shell out money for a new GPU, I might as well get a 980 and be done with it for awhile!

I just compared my P score with some scores from a review of the latest 970 to be released and my P score beats a stock GTX770!

The 970 is a better score/$ ratio by a long ways in my mind

They usually score around 2k more points. Just don't see an extra $150-250 there

Mine's getting a little outdated now. Haven't had much time to play many games since my daughter came along a little over a year ago.

AMD FX-8350 & EVGA GTX 670 tucked into a Cooler Master HAF XB and on a custom watercooled loop and fully automatic fan control with custom temp/rpm map.

I thought of doing a custom loop. A lot of work, but it pays off

My h110 with quad 140s gets the job done

Good stuff man

I barely squeezed a push pull on my h110. Temps under 55-60c at 4.4

Mine is a little outdated as well...Built it for BF4 (i7 @4.2, 16 ram, SSD, 680 OC on a 30" dell). I'll build the latest and greatest for BF5. The only game series I ever play lol

My build is about three years old. I need to get another SSD to replace the system drive. And I'm thinking about upgrading the video card and perhaps even the monitor next year when I pick up GTA 5.

Been awhile since I put mine together. The i7 2600k still chuggin along pretty well.

Most recent upgrade was a GTX780.. exactly one month before they announced the 900 series. *sigh* Luckily EVGA has a step-up thing so I'm in line to swap it for a 980 at the cost of about $60. Unfortunately, I've been waiting in this "line" since they announced it and still no sign of when I'll get it.

Other goals are bumping the ram up from 8 to 16gigs and a 500GB SSD when I can catch one cheap. And I think I want one of those 21:9 monitors and I'll put two of my previous monitors on either side.

I don't have any pics, and my rig is a few years old, although I did buy a new GPU in January or February. I need to pull it out and dust it out since i haven't done that in a while and its looking quite gross.

Asus P8Z68-V Pro
Intel Core i7 2600k
16gb Corsair Vengeance ram
EVGA 770 Classified 4gb
Corsair AX850 PSU
OWC 512gb SSD OS drive
Hitachi Ultrastar 7k3000 2tb Storage Drive (noisy, but fast)
Zalman CNPS9900Max-b heatsink, although I am only pushing the CPU to like 3.6ghz
And its all shoved in to an Antec Eleven Hundred case.
Edit: oh yeah, I have 2 montors both at 1920x1200. One is a Dell and one is a Samsung.

I would like a new rig, but it just isn't in the budget especially since this one is still kicking along pretty well. I will probably hold on to it for 1 more graphics card upgrade. The processor just doesn't really seem to break to much of a sweat on anything since most game are all GPU bound these days.
