I've done some searching around and from my understanding these kits aren't that popular. Mainly due to the looks and the limited power potential. However they are priced nice for a pd blower. Who here is running this kit and how do you like it?

I posted a similar question some time ago and after the typical "JUST GET A GEN3 (VMP/Whipple) one person responded that he really enjoyed his edelbrock before switching to a different setup (I think he went turbos).

One thing the 2300 EB had in common with the Roush 2300 was that the factory tune was too soft. I think either option would be great for something reliable and long lasting without cramming a ton of boost if you don't need big power. I got the impression that the 2.3 setups are not viable for big power. I'd be happy around 600 (probably crank) which seems to be about the limit on EB anyway. Another option I thought looked really appealing was the department of boost kits that use takeoff blowers from GT500's.

DOB, Roush 2300, and EB 2300 are about the only PD options that start under 6k for a full kit I believe. Of the three I thought EB2300 looked the most promising for someone who rarely drag races. I love that the EB kit is front feed and doesn't interfere with strut tower brace fitment. If you want big power EB isn't the way to go.

From the info gathered it seems like the edelbrock is a good economical choice for someone who isn't looking for big power. It's also the cheapest of the pd blowers from what I've seen. Where can I find the roush for under 6k? Seems like most kits are a tick above 6000. The edelbrock stage 2 kit is around 5300 rightnow.

I was mistaken, you're right the Roush is a little over 6k starting. Maybe I saw it on sale or a tuner kit for 5999 or something in the past.

Department of Boost :: GT550-S197 Coyote Phase III Manifold Kit

DOB kit is actually under 5k but does not come with a tune and there's a lot less people running those setups. The neat thing about those kits is you can option it all different ways, like getting a 13-14 blower instead of an 07-12. I think I'd still rather buy a turn-key kit like Edelbrock, VMP, Roush, or Whipple just for the support options and piece of mind that every component was designed as a package for your car.

Brenspeed seems to do stuff with the EB.

I almost went with one but went to a Roush Phase 1 instead since it is closer to the VMP blowers (more upgrades available) I had to stay with a kit that was CA legal.

Price wise I was able to get the Roush kit from AM for about $5800 using a discount code.

Vmp was nice enough to hook me up with a gen 2r the other day so that's the route I'll be taking thanks.
