I agree with the b.s.

I've shot a 120# Whitetail deer with a 220gr .300 Weatherby mag at less than 20 yrds and it didn't casue that much damage.

What a puss. Soak it with some peroxide, wrap it and go home. Shit will be like new in 3 weeks.

Agreed...

If a 300 Win Mag on a goose does not cause that much damage, I have my doubts on the 5.56...

Don't ask about the goose. Its a long story.

It IS a 5.56 M193 round.

Do some research on ballistics of the M193 before you jump to conclusions. Creates quite a shockwave when traveling through an object.

yep :read:
i drop a guy at 320 meters with the M193 (basic ball) round and hit him in his right collar bone. i was very suprised to see that it almost ripped his right arm off, but i will say this i carried an M-14 on my first tour and i never want to shoot anyone else unless im using 7.26

muscle density plays a huge role hear a deer doesnt have the muscle density in its whole body to allow this kind of damage I can see fom the pic the shockwave from the slug is what damn near blew the leg apart

WOW... thats all
I know that the 5.56 round does fragment and go end over end but that much damage!?

I would still think i would choose the 7.62x39 over the 5.56. Dunno. Any input?

At 5 meters I can see that. We're talking a little more than 15 feet guys.

I can believe it, but it doesn't seem likely.

OP, is this a first hand account or something you got from someone else?
