Would this cause clutch slippage? (bad throwout bearing install)

So i installed a new clutch and put the throwout bearing on the wrong side of the fork. oops.
Instead of doing what i SHOULD'VE done and pull apart the trans to fix it i just left it there and ran it anyways.
i missed third and went into fifth up a decently steep hill today and to my surprise the RPM barely dropped. Maybe it was the 456 gear helping me out.

Just wondering if a misplaced throwout bearing would cause anything other than slack in the clutch pedal.

Thanks in advance and for helping a guy who doesn't know!!
