Sorry I don't know if this is the right place to post this?
But, one ball joint on the 2003 Cobra LCAs that I purchased has a gash in the threads where it looks like the guy sawed off the nut or something.
So if I can't get the castle nut back on there...I might be getting a new set of ball joints.
So my question is, are the X2 ball joints better than the 2003 Cobra ball joints?
And how much better are both those ball joints than regular ball joints?
Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry about the other two threads. My computer wasn't showing that the threads posted. My computer can be a real PITA sometimes.

The x2's are great, if you use them with the spring spacers they come with they will put your a arms at a much better angle, if you don't use the spring spacers they will drop the front of your car another half inch or so. I went with the best of both worlds and didn't use the spacers but I put in poly iso's top an bottom which ride very nice.

Why didnt you just buy NEW 03-04 control arms and get everything new?

Well i didn't get them new because I got them for $100 shipped. And the guy said they were in "great shape" which they were not at all. Especially since there was some rust on them.

$100 plus needing new balljoints is not a good deal imo, sorry to hear you got hosed a bit. A tiny bit of rust is no big deal however, 10 mins of elbow grease and some rustoleum black would fix that up.

Buying used suspension pieces is a crapshoot unless you know the seller.

$100 for the arms, plus ~ $130+ for the x2 balljoints, plus labor to install the balljoints vs paying ~250-270 for brand new 03-04 control arms from ford racing. Not to mention that the used arms may have 75,000 miles on them already and the bushings may be well worn (you never know). Sometimes trying to save a few bucks ends up costing you big money.

When it comes to suspension parts, internal engine parts, gears, etc I always buy new so I KNOW what i am getting. Things like intakes, interior pieces, body parts, etc I'll consider buying used IF I know the seller reasonably well.

This is true... i didnt think about the bushings being worn.
Should i just contact him and try to get my money back? :/
Because to me, "great shape" isnt rusted over with bad ball joints.

At the very least try and get some money back for a set of ball joints. Id return them to him and buy a new set for another $60.

Did he send you pictures or did you buy these withouth actually seeing them?
