X3 or X4

My son just picked up a 1999 GT and I added it to my software. The PO included an X4 he used, but I also have a spare X3 I can use. Are the X4's the ones that have issues bricking when loading a tune onto the older cars? Would the X3 be a better/safer choice?

I personally feel a lot safer tuning anything with an X4 over an X3

Why's that? I've been using an X3 on my Cobra for the last 3 years with no issues. But then I was one of those that hated giving up my Xcal2. Is it the BDX that has the issues with the older computers?

Yes your probably thinking of BDX they are huge POS and have tones of software issues, Ive had to warranty like 5 already. X4 are relatively trouble free as are X3 but X3 boards seem crap out a little more often then X4 IMO
