Z06 is a 11.70-11.40 car best case scenario for us.

In this poll who is running a 11.50 or better and what mods. Also I can't include this in the poll but what is your rubber?

I'm not worried about what it can do at the track, I'm worried about what it can do on the street from a roll.

Just remember they are running 11.7 all day and they just came out. It took a long time for the C5 Z06 to get good times. And in 2003 if I remember they were getting them running 11's BONE STOCK. And that is with 100 less rwhp than the new Z06 has.

And as far as running from a roll take a look at the Z06 vs SL65 and lambo video's. Z06 destroys the lambo from a roll and barely looses to a 650hp SL65 mercedes.

I would like to see a bone stock Z vs a 600hp KenneBell or whipple cobra. 60-160.

Can your kid sit in the back of the ZO6? In a accident would you want to be in the new Z06 or your COBRA?

Brand new blue C6 Z06 was at SSOTN last Saturday.
He ran a 13.1@118mph, a 12.8@119mph and a 12.x@119mph (didn't see the time board entirely before it cleared).
I'm sure not worried about them yet.

Ditto! I can give two shyts and a fugg about track times. It's just not my thing. On the street though it's a different story....

With what the C6 Z06s are trapping at (125+) they are easily bottom 11/high ten second cars with a good driver and some sticky tires.

Please. Already, I've seen an [email protected] backed up by an 11.51 by a stock C6 Z06. The best case at 127.59 is far better than 11.70. I've put down 11.4s at a lower mph.

And the best case from a roll is 99% of cars heads on a platter. Including all CPIE 03's, the vast, vast majority of ported eaton cars, and lots of Twin Screws. I haven't seen video, but a non-bullshitting friend I have said a 480 rwhp CPIE 03 lost to a stock C6 Z by about ~6 length from a roll to 140. Physics gives me no reason to doubt it.

Where are all these mid-120mph C6 Z06's?
I was out to dinner with some friends a few weeks ago. One of them is the "driver" for Cartek. He was at the Corvette event at Etown a few weeks ago. He told me there were three C6 Z06's, all running 118-120mph in the mid-high 12's...all day. Then I see one running, all day, at Cecil and it goes 119mph.
What gives? I can't attribute an 8 mph difference to driving, and it was good air at Etown and Cecil.

FYI...that car wasn't "stock".
It has "headers, high flow cats and a Vette Doctor air filter."
Link.

I agree...they are awesome cars, and out of the box I don't think anything can touch them, particularly in that price range.
However, I'm starting to get skeptical of the 125-127mph "stock" C6 Z06.

I don't own or have never driven a Z06 (any year). But I have raced a few at the track and they seem to have the same type of problems that the Cobra's do.....they can easily spin on the launch with stock tires. That being said it will boil down to how well you can drive and how accustomed you are to the car. Some will run in the 11.XX and some will run in the 12.xx.

And that is a big factor. I expect the Z06 to get ragged on by a lot of Stang owners but it's in a class of its own IMO. And I love the Terminator. Always will! But the new Z06 is the absolute best bang-for-the-buck on the planet IMO. Being THE king of the road out of the showroom, it will be challenged verbally more than it will on the street. If I could afford to buy one, that is the car I'd want. Gorgeous, too!
