When I got my ticket I was leaving the drag trip, I got into it with a Civic, and got pulled. He did not catch us racing, but he knew we were.
I had a buddy in the car, who was cussing the other car, not the L.E.O.!
I don't know if he took it the wrong way, or just wants to stick it to me as hard as possible, but he will not budge on the ticket. I really did not do anything out of the way to him. I actually was as compliant as I could be!
I am not complaining, just confused. I know I deserved a ticket, but why would he want a letter apologizing instead of just standing strong?
It has been continued 3 times I think, but still he will not allow the court to lower the speed.
The last time it was continued he requested my lawyer to get me to write a letter apologizing.
So... I am thinking about sending this in, what do you think? Is it good? Is that what he wants to hear?
I am open for all comments!
I don't think I am violating any Donut Shop rules, but if so; I would be glad to edit my post.
Dear Officer Basinger,
I am writing you this letter to sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience or undue stress I have caused you regarding my ticket
issued _____________.
I regret any disrespectful actions or words directed towards you, or
accompanying officers.
I would also like to apologize for my passenger Jeremy Hurlocker. As
you might remember, he was aggravated with the other car driver involved
in the incident.
I believe his frustration might have come across in a way that seemed
directed towards you. It was not.
As I’m sure you know, young men and women in there early 20's tend to
react out of passion rather than thought. I believe this was one of
those times.
I truly have learned a lesson in life with this experience; fast cars
are meant to go fast in appropriate places!
I can promise you this: you will never see me in court for a similar
instance!
My father once told me, “You never fire, hire, or dump a girl in the
heat of the moment.”
I have lived by this for the last few years, and believe disrespecting
an authority figure should be added to this list.
Sincerely,
