Late model Ford Mustangs are some of the hottest performance vehicles on the market, but their stock shifters lack some of the capabilities needed by true street/strip performance enthusiasts. The TCI® StreetFighter® Ratchet Shifter for 2011-12 Ford Mustangs with automatic transmissions was designed to easily replace the stock shifter and seriously enhance your driving experience. The new StreetFighter® shifter provides a positive stop shifting action that allows you to manually “speed shift” the transmission without fear of hanging between gears or missing a gear all together. This all-new StreetFighter® Ratchet Shifter is engineered specifically to fit 2010-12 Ford Mustang consoles and requires no modifications to your car’s interior or the factory Ford automatic transmission. The shifter also utilizes the factory shift cables to make the installation process as easy as possible. Featuring clearly marked, lighted gear indicators for perfect gear selection, this durable shifter also has a billet, race-inspired appearance that makes it ideal for both performing on the track and cruising through town.

How would this benefit the shifting of the OEM transmissions? Also the 2013 (I see this isnt listed for them but would assume compatability) automatics have the SelectShift built in that allows for manual changing of the gears.

I would love to know how this makes the car shift faster, thanks!

If you autocross or something like that it would be nice, the stock shifter can do 1-2-3 which is good for 0-100+ mph or so with the stock 3.15. But it has no gates or positive stops so you can just push it from 1st to D or D to 1st by just pushing the button, not easy to select a certain gear while moving.

Although fairly useless for drag racing since there is quite a lag when you manual shift, possibly the trans may be able to be tweaked internally for quicker manual shifts.

I would like one, but I don't like it enough to spend $550 on it.

With the converter i have and the tune I have, I use 2 and 3 a lot in town, the trans tends to want to upshift all the way to 6th and lug around.

Yeah this seems like the only setup you would want this shifter with. My wifes uncle has this on his 05 gt with a built trans, stall and blower setup. Its a rocket ship, and this shifter works perfect with that setup. But for stock, yeah not worth it.
