Charging/Alternator Issues

I replaced the alternator after 9 years and 53000 miles before having charging issues. Now less than 6 months later the battery light comes on while at cruising speeds. But if you raise the RPM's then the light goes out and then returns when returning to cruising RPM. Any suggestions would be great. :shrug:

What kind of alternator did you go with?

Test battery and replace if not in absolute tip top shape.

Replace alternator since you already know it is bad.

Read alternator threads on this site and in the FAQ sticky on each sub forum 1st page at the top, for information on getting a better quality alternator in the first place and little tricks to make the good ones last even longer.
