We sold our old house in about 3-weeks and after looking at many pre existing and new construction we decided to just build new. With today's economy we got thousands of dollars worth of upgrades included plus a warranty. We are building in the north Fort Worth/Keller Texas area. The house we are building is 2600 sq. ft. with and a 450 sq. ft. garage with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, formal dining room, study and game room. Not bad for just me and my girlfriend and I’m 25. I really wanted a 3-car garage but had to settle for a 2-car. At least the garage is a good size, 20'x22.5'. Anyways here are some pics of the build and I will keep you guys updated...

Here is the entrance

Yeah, I can't really get into slab houses either. I looked at one this past fall when I bought my place and after growing up in a home with a basement my whole life it just bugged me to not have one.

Not my style, but it looks like it will be a very nice home when finished. Congrats! I'm sure you can wait to move in!

In north Texas we cant' have basements due to clay issues and there is also a fairly low water table in the soil. So we have to use floating foundations. I would love to have a basement but due to the huge cost of installing one correctly I cant.

Did you see the lot? How could you build a "basement"?

edit...well I just learned something new. Hmmm.

Damn you are right down the street from me. I actually got a few friends that live in woodland springs. I am just over in Crawford Farms.

BTW Nice House:beer:
