9 C-series rocket engines propel this thing to insane speeds!

Our "track" was a huge parking lot for our local civic center. It measures roughly 650ft, and our car covered the distance in about 3.5 seconds. The car rides on a tightly stretched 100lb test braided fishing line, between light poles.

Unfortunately, after 2 successful passes, the chassis suffered a catastrophic failure, as the thrust from the 9 C series engines ripped it apart. ;)

IE worked. That's pretty cool. You should get a speed gun and see how fast it goes. :)

Well, it covered 650ft in 3.5 seconds (roughly).. and, a rocket's thrust curve is not linear at all. I'd say peak speed is around 150-175mph, based on a known average speed of around 125mph.
