im going to try something new, interesting, fun and different this year.
there are 12 months in the year, so im going to put 12 sets of wheels on Project TF500 this year! a new set, every month. different design, different finish.
i will rock the set for about 1 month (hardly any miles since dont get to drive the car too much ) then put the set up for sale in the marketplace for a reduced price/quick sale. with or without tires. i know this would be pretty easy if i still had a terminator but hopefully they'll go quickly for the S197 crowd as well, so i dont start getting "used wheels" backed up here lol. :read:
some designs and finishes will be more popular than others of course. some sets have never been put on an S197, or ANY mustang before. so we'll all get a chance to see how they'd look. i will most likely be sticking with 20" since those are the easiest to move for S197s and i think they look the best. i will likely be putting a set of 18s on for road course duty though...
i will keep adding pics to this thread as each month goes by, so subscribe if you'd like to see what we throw on
at least once, i plan to do a poll in a separate thread to allow the people of svtp to choose what the next set will be
i would love to have the wheels ready to go at the beginning of each month but the reality is that is not always possible, even for me lol. plus getting tires on, the car out to take pics, etc... but they WILL happen during the month at some point
i came up with this idea after i had already decided to make this first set. i had 20" chicanes on before, briefly for a car show, in brushed aluminum and loved how it looked. but since i had this idea, i figured id change the finish up a little bit. this is a relatively "new" finish in the wheel industry so i figured i might as well try it out and show it to potential future customers.
for JANUARY: 20x9.5 20x11 3 piece Chicane. Brushed aluminum with double clear coat on the centers, with chrome lips.
im having tires put on these wheels as i type this. im hoping to get them on the car today so i can snap some pics tomorrow before the big storm comes in on friday. :dancenana:
this finish, brushed with double clear, is the same price as our standard brushed aluminum. we already have an order for the first set like this for a terminator
we also have another, lighter version of this which is simply called "brushed with single tint" that i will be putting on one of the upcoming sets to show the difference.
here's some quick teaser pics i was able to snap today. using a brand new camera so im still trying to figure out how to use it
hopefully better pics to come tomorrow
tires are Nitto Invo. 275/35/20 up front and 295/35/20 in the rear
my DSLR and nice PAS both broke recently so i had to go out and grab a new, decent camera till i get the DSLR fixed. its a new Canon elph 310. pretty nice for a pocket cam. 12mp. 8x optical. does some really cool photo features which i played with here. the auto pretty much did better than i was able to manage using manual controls.
i was running out of daylight and there was a big storm coming so i had to find a spot quick and snap some pics!
ive always loved when people post pics like this. where the main subject is in full color but everything is black and white. i guess since my car is white, it kept the bushes green lol. my new camera has this function built in. is there a way people do this with PS?
and while i was at it i decided to change the louvered hood vents from brushed to all satin black
hoodliner going back in soon
