I'm not to savvy on how this works, but I do know that wider tires factor into the equation and can throw off calibration. Can someone fill me in? Do most people not worry about this, and if they do what do people change to..

Thanks

By calibration I assume you mean gearing and/or speedometer readings?

If you're worried about gearing and/or MPH readings, you only need to be concerned with one measurement: What is the diameter of the tire compared to the diameter of the stock tires. As long as those measurements are very close, you won't be altering the gearing or speedometer readings significantly. The width of the tire has no affect on gearing.

Go to Tire Rack's website and look up the specs of the 18" tires you want, then compare them with the specs of the stock Goodyears. For example, compare the specs of these Michelins to the stock tires...

Michelin Pilot Sport 315-30-18..........Diameter: 25.5" Revolutions Per Mile: 816
Stock Goodyear F1 275-40-17...........Diameter: 25.6" Revolutions Per Mile: 811

There's less than a 1% difference between these two tires...which means there's virtually no gearing or speedometer change.
