Another one bites the dust. Motor went!

I just blew my engine. I changed the upper pulley from 3.5 to a 3.25 and advanced the timing. It was running outrageously fast. epper:
I hit it from a 10mph roll and it spun em a little then just friggin booked.
Real hard first, hit second super hard and just kept pulling like a monster, shifted to third started pulling hard again. I was grinning like a kid thinking I finally found the right combo. WRONG!!! :rollseyes
Then no power! Huge cloud of white smoke in the rearview mirror and nasty noises. Had it towed home. The radiator resivior is empty and she's leaking oil. :bored: The truck has 3,000 miles on it.
This is nobody's fault but my own. I pushed the stock block too far. :bash:

Hopefully that damn money tree will bloom again. Sorry for your loss...it was fun though, right?

that sucks how much boost was it after all.gona rebuild or sell parts.how much h.p. were you making on the stock block.

I have to admit it was great fun. She was running FANTASTIC.

It was approx 16lbs of boost. Damn she was running FAST!

474rwhp before I changed the pulley and advanced the timing.

NO PARTS FOR SALE!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Larry! :cryying: That story sounds way too familiar to me. Except mine was fine on 16 psi, it broke at 20! Going into third wot also. I ran out of injector, wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened to yours. It nosed over for a split second almost like it ran out of gas, then boom.

I'm a little bummed guys, but not much. But not mad or anything. I KNEW it was coming. But I was hoping not this soon. I was probaly putting 490 or more at the rear wheels. I mean it was friggin FAST!.
I pushed past what I knew was safe. Well, for a little while anyway. :fart:

Too much boost and maybe ran out of injector. I don't know yet.

Sorry to hear that Larry. You know what you have to do now.
I'm sure it will all be worth it when you're done.

Anyone know how hard it is take the front clip off?
