First off, let me thank Greg from Racers Edge tuning for the tune and taking the time in the wee hours of the morning to get working on my Shelby. He normally doesn't do mail order tuning, but if somebody with a Shelby wants a custom tune and isn't in CA he, said that he is more than willing to work with them and get their beast tuned!

So, now to the good stuff. With the car completely stock and just under 200 miles on the ODO she made 441rwhp and 429rwtq SAE on the first pass with a slight spike at the end. 7 minutes later she made 435.5rwhp and 423rwtq SAE. IIRC, the STD #'s were just under 450rwhp.

Here is the stock a/f and power break down...for some reason it's not showing peak power.

as you can see the stock a/f is very good. It's a tad lean in the mid range, but much better than the terminators.

This is the tune that we are using for 91 octane. As you can see it's richer than stock, but makes a lot more power.

Nice results. Now maybe the disbelievers will actually acknowledge ~440rwhp stock, and ~470rw corrected with nothing more than a tune--on shitty CA 91 no less.

yep. there is no games here, the car rolled on the dyno and made back to back passes at ~440rwhp sae w/ 200 miles on her stone stock.

470rwhp was with a very safe tune...it made 476rwhp with 2 more * (basically what we would run on 93 octane)

The iced down run was 496rwhp STD!!!

No $hit. I can't wait to see one with another 2lb of boost, full exhaust and intake with a great tune. 540-550rwhp possile?

Nice numbers man....

Once you have a few more mods installed and care to have the top speed testing done legally on the highway.........just bring her over. I also live 2 minutes from Hockenheim F1 track and 2 hours from Nurburgring (well in the Shelby 1hour 15min).
What is the difference in fuel economy as compared the the 04? My 03's fuel economy varies from 150miles to 330miles per tank due to driving habits. Average 240miles then fill up.

Dgussin-Is your warranty out the window, or did you find a way to set the comp back to stock for any needed warranty work
These numbers are awsome!!!!!!!!
this was a totally stock gt500 down to the air filter right?

Very awesome #'s you put down there! You said stock, so I'm assuming stock air box and paper filter?

The air box on this thing looks REAL restrictive to me? It will be interesting what a CAI with a nice K&N filter will do?

It's going to be a while before I'm on the dyno so thanks for being one of the pioneers!!

You said you added 2 degrees of additional timing. What WAS the original timing if you know? I heard a rumor it was like 9 or something like that?

Keep up the good work!

Great stuff! thanks for putting the back and forth to rest.(although I have no doubt that they will find a way) I would like to get some good idea's re. the A/F spike on the last run after the cooldown. I would assume that the car would pull timing and go rich as it heated up; that's to protect Ford's warrenty. I can't see it adding fuel across the board though, when the car is cooler? Unless the Spanish Oak is seeing something from the MAF that would indicate to the car it is out of parameter. Open loop due to adjustment? Please report back after you get a few miles under the new tune. I would be very interested to know whether the car holds the tune or if ti starts hunting for closer to spec readings. Please dyno again B4 the next round, and o, yes, HAVE FUN!!!

Nice numbers. What do you think about the people saying the GT500 is set-up to have a break-in period so not all the power is unleashed right away? That could explain why a tune yields so much power.

I am waiting for a cai and a long tube, 3" exhaust setup before a pulley goes on.

I will be very surprised if the car isn't above 550rwhp at that time. I can't wait to see some results from some ported blowers!

I would love to drive in Germany, I'd have way too much fun though.

As for fuel economy, well I used to get about 170 miles per tank in my 04 (I like to drive fast). So far in the Shelby I am averaging about 11 mpg on the streets (driving fairly aggressive) and 21mpg cruising at 80.

If I wanted to, the computer does not remember the tune, it shows up as some sort of code not related to the comp.(Greg mentioned what it was, but I don't remember).

The car is 100% stock, stock filter, stock exhaust (which is really sweet looking).

The stock intake is very restrictive, I have a feeling a cai is going to bring this car up at least another 30-40rwhp over what it is right now. The filter is this dense paper crap that allows no air through.

I believe we saw 14 or 15* of timing stock...we added a little bit more, and on the last 2 runs was 2* more than what is still in the car.

The car didn't give us any trouble on the dyno, it was just like any other car. Maybe some people are dynoing the car with the traction control on???

Nice numbers. What do you think about the people saying the GT500 is set-up to have a break-in period so not all the power is unleashed right away? That could explain why a tune yields so much power.
I think if I waited till 2K miles the stock numbers would probably be 15rwhp higher, but I don't think that has anything to do with the tune as much as the motor loosening up.

there was a bone stock GT500 at the SCMC Parkway Ford show in Winston Salem, NC yesterday. He got tuned to 493 rwhp. I can't remember the tq #. Just think what some nice bolt ons will do for ya.
