Hey all I've been on the site for a little while mostly looking around and broadening my knowledge on the Cobras. I currently have a white 1997 and yellow 2001 Cobra.

I bought the 1997 Cobra in July of last year but on 9-11 she was involved in an accident with a 98 Cobra and a 97 Ford Escort. The Escort came off an offramp too quickly and slid into the passenger side of my car which resulted in me being pushed into the 98 Cobra. We all were able to gain control and pull over but my car was pretty beat up since I was stuck between the two. I was able to drive the car home with the spare on the front and was amazed that the car only had external body damage only.

She still drives great and everything works fine but Progressive thought otherwise. To get all new panels for the car and repaint, they said it would be over 9k worth of work and said the car was a total loss. I did a check on panels and found that she could be rebuilt for a lil more than 1k so I bought her back. I've posted her for sale in a few places but still trying to decide if I want to keep her or not.

Well due to the 97 being in an accident, I was now out of a car and needed a replacement so that I could still get to and from work. I was looking at Mach 1's first but couldn't pull myself away from owning another Cobra. I saw the 03 DSG on here for 20k and was seriously thinking about it but ended up finding a low mileage 01 Cobra in the color that I wanted. I talked to the owner, struck a deal with him and drove from SE Virginia to Cleveland that night to go get her.

I misjudged the time it took and ended up getting there the next day but was glad I took the chance to drive so far to get her. The owner kept her completely stock and did an awesome job keeping the car pretty much impeccable! I couldn't resist anymore. I purchased her and drove her back enjoying the drive back home.

I love how the new car looks and drives. The seats are defanitely an improvement from the 97 as well but did find that I'm not completey happy yet. The 97 has all three stages of teh Steeda G-trac suspension kit as well as gears. I tried to take a turn that I know very well in the 01 as I usually do in the 97 but she just made a lot of noise and wanted to keep going straight. This made me somewhat dissapointed but have to remind myself that the car is stock. So because of this, I feel that my first mods will be done to the suspension. I'm thinking about going with the Steeda suspension kit again but am open to suggestions. This is the first time owning an IRS car and is a completely new experience. Next mods after that will be gears, intake, and exhaust. I've been thinking about swapping the intake and exhaust from the 97 to 01 but not sure if it will fit. Does anyone know if this will work or not? The 97 also has headers but not sure if they will work with the C heads.

Sorry for the short story. Here are some photos of the 97 before and after the accident as well as the 01.
