This is some before and after for probably one of the most common problem areas of this style mustang... the rear third brake light lense. I don't know if I've seen a mustang this style without a crapped out lense. I guess it is the material.

Process:
  • Wet sand with 400 grit
  • Wet sand with 1000 grit
  • Wet sand with 2000 grit
  • Polish with ScratchX on a LC orange pad on rotary at about 1,200 rpm

Yeah it is a daily driver. Someone else on another forum suggested that maybe Ford screwed up this material in that they probably used the same formula on this plastic as inside third light lenses. Inside ones get protected from UV by the glass and this one has direct exposure. I dunno...

yeah..that's a lot of work for something I can buy for 50 bucks..
hahaaha

Well it took me about an hour to do the whole process so I guess I'm worth $50 / hour. Plus I know what to do if it ever gets jacked up again or another car with a similar problem.
